Atrial septal defects can occur as isolated defects and combined with other congenital abnormalities. This chapter will cover the entire spectrum of atrial shunt lesions such as primum defects, secundum defects, sinus venosus defects, and unroofed coronary sinus. In addition, we explain the role of color Doppler, contrast studies, and transesophageal echocardiography in many examples.
