Watch this and see what the patient's lung looked like when he was first admitted to being intubated twice.
- Lecture: [CT-Findings & Lung Ultrasound in COVID-19](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1177) (Duration: 00:13) - In lung CT, we get a great overview of the organ and find some lesions quite easily - but what if CT is not available, or your patient can't be moved? In this lecture, you will learn how some COVID-19 findings you might know from CT look in lung ultrasound.
- CME Quiz: LUMC - Imaging the Lung (CME: 1.5)

### Pleural Effusion
This chapter is all about fluid around the lungs: imaging pleural effusions is easy, as you will see, and we can even use ultrasound to distinguish between complicated and uncomplicated ones - without having to take a needle through the patient's skin.
- Chapter content: 3 lectures and 1 quizzes
- Chapter CME credits that can be earned: 1
- Lecture: [Scanning for Pleural Effusions](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1178) (Duration: 00:20) - Pleural effusion is such a common finding, every doctor should know how to diagnose it. With ultrasound, this is really easy - watch this 20-minute lecture to learn all about it!
- Lecture: [Uncomplicated Pleural Effusions](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1179) (Duration: 00:17) - Now that you know how to scan for pleural effusions, we want you to become an expert: with lots of examples in this lecture, you will know what exactly uncomplicated pleural effusions look like in ultrasound.
- Lecture: [Complicated Pleural Effusions, Empyema & Raritites](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1180) (Duration: 00:25) - Complicated pleural effusions are sometimes a little harder to distinguish from other diseases than uncomplicated ones. In this lecture, you will learn why and become confident with the findings you see on your ultrasound screen.
- CME Quiz: LUMC - Pleural Effusion (CME: 1)

### Pulmonary Pathology
In this chapter we have a close look at all the illnesses of the lung we can see with ultrasound: from pneumothorax to pulmonary fibrosis, from pulmonary embolism to pneumonia - there is so much to be seen!
- Chapter content: 4 lectures and 1 quizzes
- Chapter CME credits that can be earned: 1.5
- Lecture: [Pneumothorax](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1181) (Duration: 00:20) - In this lecture, we talk about THE indication for point of care lung ultrasound: pneumothorax. You will learn several findings to rule in or rule out the pathology in your patients, how to scan for pneumothorax, and what it looks like in different patients.
- Lecture: [Diffuse parenchymal Lung Diseases & Other Diseases of the Lung](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1182) (Duration: 00:26) - DPLDs are a huge group of pathologies, so in this lecture, we will make it as simple as possible for you and for your daily clinical routine. Watch to learn about pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary congestion, and how you can use different artifacts to your advantage.
- Lecture: [Consolidations Part 1](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1183) (Duration: 00:25) - You need a chest X-ray to diagnose pneumonia - or do you? Watch this lecture to impress your colleagues with your bedside-ultrasound skills, and learn what atelectasis looks like in lung ultrasound.
- Lecture: [Consolidations Part 2](/course/lung-ultrasound-masterclass#sg_course_lecture_1184) (Duration: 00:13) - Pulmonary embolism is a dreadful emergency, and making the diagnosis quickly can save your patient's life. Here you will learn not only how to make the diagnosis, but even how you can locate the thrombus within the lung.
- CME Quiz: LUMC - Pulmonary Pathology (CME: 1.5)

### The Heart and the Lungs
Several findings in lung ultrasound actually come from problems of the heart, like heart failure or diastolic dysfunction. This chapter deals with echocardiography and how to correlate your findings there with the clinical picture and the sonography of the lung.
- Chapter content: 3 lectures and 1 quizzes
- Chapter CME credits that can be earned: 1
