## Overview
We have developed this course program to best equip general practitioners and sonographers working in a general medical practice with all the tools they need to integrate and efficiently leverage the diagnostic capabilities of ultrasound. Integrating the program's content with standard patient care based on physical examination and laboratory analysis will help you take a comprehensive approach to providing optimal care and treatment for your patients. After completing this course, you will be able to use ultrasound to rule out many differential diagnoses in just one minute and ultimately decide if your patients need to be referred to a specialist or the clinic. Note: This course includes AI-generated translations in Spanish and Arabic. Accuracy is not guaranteed (read more in Terms & Conditions)

This chapter teaches you how to extend your physical exam in cases of abdominal pain and urinary issues using ultrasound for kidneys, urinary tract, biliary system as well as eFAST.
- Chapter content: 4 lectures and 1 quizzes
- Lecture: [GP Pass - Kidney](/course/general-practitioners-pass#sg_course_lecture_3847) (Duration: 00:20) - This lecture aims to improve your understanding and use of handheld ultrasound to answer clinical questions by focussing on sonographic planes, terminology and probe manipulation skills. The professional will be able to identify the sonographic appearances of normal and abnormal...
- Lecture: [GP Pass - Urinary tract](/course/general-practitioners-pass#sg_course_lecture_3848) (Duration: 00:27) - This lecture aims to improve your understanding and use of handheld ultrasound to answer clinical questions by focusing on sonographic planes, terminology and probe manipulation skills. The professional will be the variants and abnormalities of the urinary tract from...
- Lecture: [GP Pass - Biliary tract](/course/general-practitioners-pass#sg_course_lecture_3849) (Duration: 00:19) - This lecture was designed for healthcare professionals who aim to incorporate handheld ultrasound assessment of the biliary tract in their practice. The professional will learn how to recognise the variants and abnormalities of the biliary tract from presentations, hands-on demo...

### Heart and Lung
In this chapter, you will learn how to examine the heart for common pathologies and how to recognize frequent pulmonary pathologies such as pleural effusions. You will also learn how to recognize deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as an additional tool in suspected pulmonary embolism to ensure proper and prompt treatment.
- Chapter content: 3 lectures and 1 quizzes
- Lecture: [GP Pass - Heart](/course/general-practitioners-pass#sg_course_lecture_3862) (Duration: 00:36) - This lecture is designed to provide you with a focus on sonographic planes, terminology and probe manipulation skills, along with techniques involved in handheld ultrasound Echocardiography to evaluate the heart chambers in 2D. Learn how to differentiate normal heart function...
- Lecture: [GP Pass - Lung](/course/general-practitioners-pass#sg_course_lecture_3863) (Duration: 00:24) - In a first glance, Prof. Thomas Binder will talk about pleural effusions. The first part covers the following topics: Patient positioning, cut planes, image orientation, and ultrasound anatomy.
- Lecture: [GP Pass - How to image - Part 2](/course/general-practitioners-pass#sg_course_lecture_3855) (Duration: 00:19) - In the second part of the imaging lectures we explain what features of the thyroid you should describe, we talk about contour, texture, and shape of the thyroid. Finally, we show you how to quantify the size of the thyroid.
